Jenna's Visit

The first week of October Jenna and her kids were able to come visit us.  She just recently moved to Rexburg, ID so we are loving the fact that we are only about 4 hours away from each other.  The cousins have so much fun together!  Here is a picture narrative of what we did.

4 out of the 5 sisters together for lunch at BYU.  We sure love being on campus. We missed you Alyssa!

Austin and Cade were loving their time together.  They were so worn out everyday from playing so hard they went to bed so well every night.  We had all 4 kids in one room and they did fabulous going to sleep.

How many kids can you fit into 1 cart...

These boys are so competitive in everything they do.  It must be a boy thing. :)

Cute girl cousins.  They seem to have the exact color hair but Rylee's is so straight and Kensley's is curly.

All 4 kids smiling in the same picture!

 Cousin hugs!

 Twins!

We went to a jumping place on of the days. Austin and Cade kept adding foam cubes to their tramp to say they were jumping with more.  Soon they started building towers with them.  They loved it and wore themselves out.

My friend Melissa was in Utah for a couple months (her husband is also doing medical rotations).  Her mom is a photographer and asked Jenna and I to do some modeling for her.  She wanted a certain type of look in these pictures.  Very artistic and modern. We wore white vintage dresses, red lipstick and did some modern dance poses, jumping poses and storybook poses.  It was so fun!  Our faces were suppose to be serious the whole time but every time Jenna and I would look at each other we would crack up laughing. We had to implement in a no-looking-at-each-other-while-taking-pictures-rule! Melissa was so kind to watch all four of our kids plus her own two while we took these.  Afterwards we had dinner at her house and were able to catch up.  Such a fun day.

We visited both sets of grandparents while Jenna was in town.  This is at the Allen's house.

We just love when we get to spend time together. I am already planning my trip up to Idaho next month!

Weekend Getaway

A few weekends ago was my 10 year high school reunion.  Yikes, it's been that long?!   Also that same weekend, my parents host a annual Balloon Festival Breakfast. Our city sends up tons of hot air balloons that we can see from our house so my parents have put on the breakfast for tons of neighbors and friends. They have been doing it for the past 16 years and I haven't been able to be there in about a decade.  So with so much happening in one weekend Jenna and I really wanted to go.  As our birthday present this year, my parents flew Jenna and I back to TX for the weekend.  No husbands, no kids.  It was So. Much. Fun.   We had a blast just doing whatever we wanted with no thought of the kids' schedules or needs.

Our reunion consisted of going to our High School football game Friday night and then a rooftop party on Saturday night.  I was excited to go because I was pretty involved in my high school and thanks to Facebook have kept in touch with a lot of my friends. But it was pretty weird seeing these people after not seeing them for so long!

It was so interesting to talk and hear what my friends have done these past 10 years.   It also got me thinking about what I have done and I have to say that I am so happy about the things I have accomplished since high school.  And right now there is no other place I would rather be than in the home raising and teaching my young kids right now.  Not every day is super pleasant but I am very happy to have this job.

The balloon fest breakfast was also a blast.  I got to see so many neighbors and friends that I haven't seen in so long and it was so great to catch up with everyone.  My mom lovingly refers to Jenna and I as mystery children since we have been away for so long, many of their friends have never met us so I also was introduced to lots of new people as well.  I got a lot of "Oh you are one of the twins I have heard about."

Such a fun weekend with Jenna!
